Bringin' Down the House! Prix du Public / Audience Award to David and Layla

KurdishCinema.com - September 13  2008

David and Layla directed by Kurdish director Jalal Jonroy
got the audience award at Rabat International Film Festival held in
Morocco in June 2008.

Next, the film is invited to be in Competition at Jewish Eye, World
Jewish Film Festival, Israel Oct 22-Oct 30. This is the 3rd invite from
Israel, including the Jerusalem Film Festival.

Coinciding with this Jewish Eye Film Festival, the Arab Film Festival
in Brussels has now invited David & Layla, Oct 22-28.

Martine Lelouch is a fan of David & Layla from Prix du Public
Award at Mons/Belgium, 2007 Love International Film Festival.
David & Layla won the Audience Award against World top love
films including La vie en Rose, Lady Chatterley and 2 Days in
Paris.

The Rabat Award was presented to Director J Jonroy by the
Ministry of Culture - who is also an actress - in the presence
of European, Arab and Muslim Embassy reps, including
France, Germany, Poland, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, etc.

This first Award from an Arab/Muslim country is another
breakthrough for this Jewish-Muslim love story.
