Musikliebe, a new documentary of Yusuf Yesiloz

Kurdish director Yusuf Yesiloz has completed his new documentary,
Musikliebe (Love of Music), which will be premiered at the 43. Solothurn Film
Festival taking place between 21st to 27th of January 2008. The documentary,
which runs for 54 minutes, is a joint production of Switzerland state television
SF and cultural TV channel 3Sat.

Musiklebe tells the story of three musical groups living in Switzerland and
coming from different ethnic background. All three left their homes, have
successful music career . With courage they seek an new artistic identity in their new homes
and melancholy, and laceration are their constant companions. The three musicians are in love
with the music they are performing.

The documentary explores the way they adapt into the Swiss society. One
of the music groups is from Turkey that consists of an Azarian Ulku Bozkurt
and Kurdish Ali Kemal Yildiz who sing in Kurdish. The other two groups are
from Georgia and Morocco.

Living in Switzerland, Yesilgoz has directed an other documentary
"Between the Worlds" which won the best documentary awards at
Innsbruck Film Festival in Austria in 2006.  Yesiloz has also two other
documentaries 'Fasting to Topple Walls' and 'Alevit Songs'.
